The Vision

The River District is a central component of Sacramento's community fabric, providing a dynamic and unique mix of urban uses while embracing the natural environments of the American and Sacramento rivers. The District's energetic atmosphere supports a robust economic and employment base that builds on the area's traditional uses and includes office, neighborhood serving retail, service commercial industries, hotels and restaurants.

Safe, clean and attractive, the River District will be enhanced by diverse neighborhoods offering everything from single-family residences to higher-density urban-style lofts and condos. The neighborhoods will be anchored by community activity centers; supported by a network of open spaces; connected by strong streetscapes; and linked to local amenities and new facilities.

Convenient and efficient circulation will be integrated with Light Rail lines and public transportation systems that foster Transit-Oriented Development opportunities. The new mixed-use housing development will take advantage of the River District's transit service, proximity to Downtown Sacramento and other area amenities.
